Nokia 7310 Supernova
Quick View💎 Rarity Index: C (Common)
👁 Evaluation in my collection: Great – 9/10
⏱ Life timer: 7 m | 📦 Boxed: NO
📅 Release Year: 2009 | 💰 Release Price: N/A
📊 Units Sold: ~3M
📰 Why this phone matters: Straight out of the box the 7310 Supernova does look a little distinctive. Its screen is mirrored and the silver plastic number keys also have a mirrored effect so that stylish types can check their coiffure at regular intervals. The out of the box fascia of my review sample was deep blue. A ‘candy pink’ Xpress-On cover was provided. Don’t go there. Choose the ‘wasabi green’ bundle instead.📝 Reviews when released: Trusted Reviews 🔗

Nokia 7610 Supernova
Quick View💎 Rarity Index: C (Common)
👁 Evaluation in my collection: As New – 10/10
⏱ Life timer: 7m | 📦 Boxed: NO
📅 Release Year: 2009 | 💰 Release Price:
📊 Units Sold: ~3M
📰 Why this phone matters: Where the original 7610 was stocky and a bit overdesigned for our tastes, the Supernova is slim and unassuming. The slider design is attractive, but it doesn’t go out of its way to catch your eye. The front face is glossy silver, while the back cover design is up to you. Nokia includes red and black interchangeable covers in the box, though actually prying them off isn’t easy. The handset measures 3.86 inches by 1.89 inches by 0.59 inch, which is thin by Nokia standards. It weighs 3.48 ounces, which is nice for traveling.📝 Reviews when released: cNET 🔗

Nokia 7705 Twist Verizon
Quick View💎 Rarity Index: A (Rare)
⭐ WOW Factor: The first Nokia Swivel phone
👁 Evaluation in my collection: BNIB – 10/10
🕵 Nokia Codename: DIVA
⏱ Life timer: 0 | 📦 Boxed: YES
📅 Release Year: 2009 | 💰 Release Price: ~100 $
📊 Units Sold: ~300k
📰 Why this phone matters: The miniaturization of cell phone tech is enabling some truly unique designs lately. The Samsung Alias 2 was one, with its morphing e-ink keyboard. The Nokia 7705 Twist is another; it literally swivels open. It’s far from the first handset to do this; swivel phones were more popular several years ago, and of course the T-Mobile Sidekick line still does it. But with eye-catching devices like the Twist, they could make a comeback. The Twist is a decent choice for a Verizon feature phone, but there are several downsides-most of which are likely due to packing so much technology into such a small space.📝 Reviews when released: cNET 🔗

Nokia N86
Quick View💎 Rarity Index: B (Uncommon)
⭐ WOW Factor: The first Nokia phone with a 8MP camera
👁 Evaluation in my collection: BNIB – 10/10
⏱ Life timer: 0m | 📦 Boxed: YES
📅 Release Year: 2009 | 💰 Release Price: ~375 €
📊 Units Sold: ~1M
📰 Why this phone matters: The Nokia N86 8MP is a high-end smartphone announced on 17 February 2009 and released in May 2009. It runs on Symbian OS 9.3 (S60 3rd Edition FP2) and is part of the Nseries. It shares similar design features with the N97.
One of its main selling points is its Carl Zeiss photography features. It was Nokia’s first camera phone to have an 8 megapixel sensor (although late compared to other manufacturers),and features both multiple aperture settings and a mechanical shutter (uncommon features by the standards of camera phones), and a Carl Zeiss lens with a wide angle of view (28 mm equivalent). It also has auto focus and a dual LED flash (3rd generation dual-LEDs), and an AF assist light. Video capture resolution is 640 x 480 pixels (VGA) at 30 frames per second. The N86 continuous the form factor of the Nokia N95 and N85 with its dual-sliding form factor, whilst adding a toughened glass front cover and metal detailing and keypad, making it look and feel premium. It has a 2.6-inch AMOLED display, a fast 434 MHz processor, and an 8 GB internal memory. It also has the same kickback stand as the N85 so it is possible to use as a small standalone screen, and it is possible to configure the opening of the stand to launch applications such as the video player. It also supports the N-Gage gaming platform. The N86 8MP is regarded as the spiritual successor of the N95 8GB due to its feature set in the same sliding form factor, and the commercial failure of the N96. Some regard it a successor of the N82 due to its camera.

📰 Why this phone matters: Sony Ericsson has decided to join the club rolling out the Xperia Pureness X5, a model with basic functionality and spectacular transparent screen. It would set you back with about $1,000 and you might well be thinking “Jeez, it should be able to cook for that amount of cash”, but sadly, this is not the case. What you get for the buck is the feeling of owning an expensive, luxurious accessory and being entitled to certain, premium services.📝 Reviews when released: N/A 💔
