📰 Why this phone matters: The Nokia 3210 is one of the most important mobile phones ever made, a device that redefined the industry and introduced a new era of mobile culture. Released in 1999, it was the first Nokia phone designed specifically for young users, with a focus on style, entertainment, and ease of use. It introduced T9 predictive text, internal antenna design, customizable Xpress-On covers, and three built-in games that helped shape mobile entertainment. The 3210 is historically important as the first widely produced Nokia with a true internal antenna, a major step that defined the design of every Nokia released afterward. This engineering milestone allowed Nokia to eliminate the external antenna stub while maintaining strong GSM reception, setting a new standard for mobile phone design across the entire industry.
This BNIB unit represents the 3210 at its absolute best. With its lightweight form, strong reception, long battery life, and classic Nokia durability, the 3210 became a global phenomenon, selling around 160 million units worldwide. Its internal antenna was a major engineering achievement, eliminating the need for external protruding parts and contributing to its clean, modern look.
Customizable covers made the 3210 a fashion statement. The included green Xpress-On cover is a less common variant that adds even more collector value to this unit. Because the 3210 was heavily used by millions of people for years, finding a new-in-box example is extremely rare, and such units are now considered valuable pieces of mobile history.
The Nokia 3210 remains a cultural icon and a milestone in Nokia’s development. This BNIB example is a perfect representation of one of the most influential handsets ever produced and a standout addition to any serious mobile phone collection.

📰 Why this phone matters: The Nokia 3230 is a Symbian Series 60 smartphone announced on November 2, 2004. It was billed as the first Series 60 phone aimed at the mass-market rather than the higher-end Series 60 devices with a relatively low cost of 350 eur;os when released in Q1 2005.This phone was designed as a replacement for two previous youth-oriented Nokia phones – the Nokia 3660 Series 60 smartphone and the Nokia 3220 feature phone. No variant of this phone was released for the United States market. It runs on Series 60 2nd Edition Feature Pack 1 (Version 2.1), based on Symbian OS 7.0s. It features several games (including multiplayer Bluetooth games), a 1.23-megapixel camera, Nokia Lifeblog, a 32 MB RS-MMC to store extra images and applications, Push to Talk, a 176×208 pixel 65,536-colour screen, multimedia messaging, and RealPlayer.

Known issues
It has been frequently reported that fine dust get into the space between the LCD screen and the transparent plastic cover. The dust can be manually removed by opening the plastic case.In common with many phones of this type, the battery life is not as much as you would expect on older models of phones. Less than 2 days is typical whereas older ‘mono screen’ phones can often manage a week between recharging.
Users also reported that before the call ringtone sound, the 3230 would give a loud “beep” sound, with no way to turn it off or control its volume. The device would beep even on silent mode. This issue was most common in the early models of the phone.
Other users have reported slow response times for the camera, sudden screen blackouts and random reboots.

📰 Why this phone matters: Rare Nokia 3250 RM-38 engineering prototype featuring Nokia’s F5/NCT/BDA validation markings. Labeled Prototype – Not for Sale – Property of Nokia and built with pre-production hardware, prototype IMEI, and internal test circuitry. Although the Black & Pink shell reached retail, this device is a true R&D unit used for field testing (F5), Nokia Compatibility Testing (NCT – accessory, firmware, Bluetooth, and sync compatibility validation), and Board Design Assessment (BDA – PCB layout, electrical stability, and radio integrity evaluation). A prototype with NCT + BDA validation tags is exceptionally rare, as these were normally destroyed after evaluation, making this one of the few surviving engineering-stage 3250 units-a remarkable piece of Nokia’s swivel-phone development history.📝 Reviews when released: cNET 🔗

📰 Why this phone matters: Similar to 5110 but runs on GSM 1800. The 5110, also known as Nokia 5146 on One2One (now T-Mobile), or the nk402 on Orange in the UK, was intended for the consumer market, succeeding Nokia 1610 and the analogue Nokia 232. Its design is based on the same platform as Nokia 6110 for the business market. It features a similar, simpler, revamped user interface called Series 20, but lacked the infrared data interface. It can, however, be interfaced with a computer via a cellular data card and the appropriate cable, enabling it to function like a modem to connect to remote computer systems through the Public switched telephone network (PSTN).
Nokia 5110 is rugged, has excellent battery life, and features an 84×48-pixel monochrome LCD with four LED backlights, operated by the Philips PCD8544 display controller.
It is the first Nokia phone to come with replaceable faceplates, which Nokia branded “Xpress-on” covers; a concept Nokia incorporated into several other consumer-oriented cellphones aimed at the young adult market for years to come, allowing users to customize their device. “Xpress-on” was trademarked in the U.S. on 25 February 1998.
Nokia 5110 is also one of the first mobile phones to feature the game Snake. It became one of the most popular phones of its era.
Nokia 5110 was discontinued by the year 2000, having been fully replaced by the smaller Nokia 3210.Similar to 5110 but running in GSM 1800 only📝 Reviews when released: N/A 💔

📰 Why this phone matters: The Nokia 6100 was Nokia’s lightest phone with a full 12-key keypad at the time. Combined with its battery, it weighs only 76 grams (2.68 ounces) and measures 102 x 44 x 13.5 mm. Its smaller size compared with other contemporary phones might make it difficult for the elderly, or people with large fingers, to use its keypad. The phone supports Xpress-On covers, and is packaged along with any of 4 colours. Its feature set is very similar to the Nokia 7210, although with a more conservative design.📝 Reviews when released: Mobile Review 🔗

📰 Why this phone matters: The Nokia 6210 is a mobile phone made by Nokia. It was introduced at the CeBIT fair in Hanover in February 2000 succeeding Nokia 6110. In addition to calling and SMS messaging, the phone has many other features, such as an alarm clock, a HSCSD modem, a WAP web client, 3 games (Snake 2, Pairs II and Opposite), a calculator, a ‘to-do’ list application, a calendar, infrared connectivity, a voice recorder and a stopwatch. In keeping with Nokia’s practice of selling phones that the user can customize the physical appearance of, the 6210 is minimally customizable. The plastic detail below the keypad, which Nokia called the ‘Personal Badge’ is removable. For a time, Nokia would send replacements, screen-printed with text of the customer’s choosing. These were free for a promotional period.
The 6210 could have bluetooth functionality added to it, with the use of the Nokia Connectivity Pack, which included a replacement battery which incorporated a Bluetooth adaptor and antenna (interfacing with the phone via normally unused electrical contacts in the battery compartment), and a connectivity card with a PCMCIA adaptor to bring bluetooth to a portable computer (at the time, December 2000, bluetooth was not widespread). The connectivity batteries were available separately. A software upgrade was needed for existing 6210 owners. For this reason, an upgraded 6210 was the earliest cellular phone with bluetooth connectivity. The upgrade pack was ready several months before the launch of the first cellphone with bluetooth built-in, however, it was not released to market until sometime after the first integrated-bluetooth phone had been launched. It can certainly be considered to be the first phone with a bluetooth option.📝 Reviews when released: N/A 💔
